Hi guys I was curious, I'm 25 y o and overweight I've been working out for few months lost few pounds but still I have a long way to go Is it too late to learn capoeira ?
I am in my mid-50s. I can still do the first and second move …… this instructor is showing he makes the art look beautiful.
great skill, I am 50 years old and vegetarian. I had basic training for Ancient Indian martial arts "Kalari Payattu and Mardani Khel" 2 years ago. Now I am excited about the kicks of the Capoeira . My style of cart wheel will help me with this.Kicks are easier and effective. Of course after lots of training . I may not be effective and expert but certainly better to start training and keep doing.

This is the fighting i want to practice, mixing fluidity, rhythm and pushing your body to its flexibility limits. I hope i can find somewhere in the US to learn Question for anyone who can answer: where would one travel to learn capoeira outside the US

I like number 5 shibata. I'll go try tomorrow in training. I used to do capoeira a lot. Originally with breakdancing then Capoeira then I moved on to tricking. Now I'm almost 40 and I just stick to gymnastics it's easier on my joints on the matted floor. I still like technical moves but nothing high impact. Thanks for the video 👍

Use supportive knee band.
I think the arched back is great. It helps activate the latissimus by that, strengthens the back for the frog to handstand. Thanks for the tutorial man.

I'm a 46 yr old karatekai and wish i was 20yrs younger for this type of training. Physically i think capoeria and some forms of kungfu are the most demanding and gifted styles of fighting in the world nothing but love and respect for capoeria practitioner's.
I've started my Capoeira journey at the age of 46 some 10 years ago. Don't regret it at all.
I'm a 53 yr old karate and judo practioner. Don't let age fool you into believing that you can't do it! It's more of a matter of proper diet and the correct training. Most karate instructors and karate clubs have the inherently bad habit of not studying physical fitness and athletic education. They based all of their training in old outdated traditional training methods. With modern science into athletics and physical fitness, you can achieve levels of performance you never thought possible before. For starters try Yoga, plyometrics and different kinesiological stretching modalities. Add strength training, the correct strength training that will give you the strength, fluidity and mobility for your type of activities. Get off complex carbs and increase protein and healthier carbs and minerals (amino acids and enzymes) . Also a hormone replacement therapy program. About 1cc a month of good quality testosterone booster (steroids). Which after the age of 40 is necessary, before that it would have been not only useless but also damaging to a youthful body. Start little and increase with improvement!
Dude it's all about the stamina, you just have to start little by little to get back into shape. Also you need to get on the juice, talk to your doctor about hormone replacement therapy. About 1cc a month is all you need, specially after 40 you need it and it won't do the damage that aspirin for example does. There's other supplements like glucosamine with chondroitin and collagen. Plus basic capoeira training will do marvels for your karate. I'm currently 55 yrs old and doing Angola. It's like the tai-chi of capoeira, nice and slow!

I also found out that one can also do a "macaco do chao" or a "macaco cortado". This is not a true back walkover but this is actually a back walkover variant with legs not too high in the air and close to the ground, and usually more "bent" than a traditional "macaco." This would be good especially for "capoeira angola jogando."

That meia lua he uses it like a roundhouse kick, makes more sense to use it like that. For some reason some people have difficulty doing roundhouse kicks, while others can't do crescent kicks.
